Action against the special levy imposed on income: On 22.2.2010 the Ministry of Economy and Finance decided the refund of the special levy imposed on income to E.U. employees, as the particular provision was found apparently incompatible with EU law.

After providing a legal expert opinion regarding the special levy imposed on income on request of the European Parliament, «Christianos & Partners» law firm assumed a series of cases brought before the national courts in opposition to the above-mentioned measure.
With its relevant decision of the 22th February 2010, by which Ministry of Economy and Finance ruled that the collected special levy amounts will be refunded, the ongoing trials concerning European Union employees are ceased. The legal expert opinion redacted by «Christianos & Partners» law firm, the actions brought forward by our firm and other colleagues and the pressure exercised by the European Commission were successful.
